Dear Friend:

With Election Day behind us, I want to take a brief moment to say thank you for placing your confidence in my ability to be an effective voice for you in Washington.  I am truly humbled by your support and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work in Congress.
 
I am proud of the positive, issues-oriented campaign that we have run and I hope you are too.  Over the past year I told you that if elected, I would work hard for you in Washington and represent the values important to the voters of the 5th District.  That was more than campaign rhetoric, it is a pledge I stand by.
 
Finally, thank you to the thousands of people who believed in our effort and supported us with their time, talent and financial resources.  The past year has been challenging but incredibly rewarding.
