Dear Friends,
 During my “Working Across Oklahoma” tour one of the top issues Oklahomans wanted to discuss was how upset they were over the recently passed federal health care bill.
Oklahomans want lower health care costs and better quality care, but they know the Obama - Pelosi health care bill isn’t the answer.
But as you may have heard, the Democratic leadership of our state – including Gov. Brad Henry, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and Attorney General Drew Edmondson – must not agree.
Starting with our governor, these officials have done everything they could to avoid opportunities to provide leadership for our state. While Brad Henry sits on the sidelines, Drew Edmondson has now refused to join 19 other states in the bipartisan legal challenge to ObamaCare. His lack of leadership has actually forced the Oklahoma Legislature to hire an outside law firm to represent our state in a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the bill.
Jari Askins' position on ObamaCare remains a mystery because she hasn’t said a word about whether she supports or opposes it. Frankly, I am surprised that someone who wants to lead this state would refuse to take a stance on an issue this important to Oklahoma and our nation. We need real leadership -- not politicians who avoid tough decisions or take their marching orders from liberals in Washington.
Please join me in sending a message to our governor and the Democratic candidates seeking to replace him: silence and inaction are unacceptable.
By signing this online petition, you'll be telling Brad Henry, Jari Askins and Drew Edmondson that we need them to join the fight against Obamacare and work for Oklahoma -- not for President Obama or Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
As governor, I will fight to repeal this job-killing, reckless-spending and unconstitutional health care bill. Competition, transparency and other free-market reforms are the ways to meaningfully reform our health care system.
I promise you as governor, I will stand up to an overreaching federal government that tries to force upon Oklahoma ill-conceived policies like ObamaCare.
